Champoeg Metric Century - The flattest 60 miles you can find in Portland. This ride starts at the Champoeg State Park (Paid Parking), travels through gentle farmlands before catching up with the Willamette River. The halfway point is Salem, the state capitol, where you can find many cafes and diners to grab a quick bite to eat. Before starting the trek back on the Willamette Valley Bikeway. Gentle rollers throughout the ride, great training ride for a new cyclist looking to do the distance, without the hills.

Route Details

The flattest 60 miles you can find in Portland. This ride starts at the Champoeg State Park (Paid Parking), travels through gentle farmlands before catching up with the Willamette River.

You will head out of Champoeg State Park and mosey your way to Salem, the state capitol of Oregon. You will enjoy great views along the way, before heading to St. Louis and then back to Champoeg. There are a few highway crossings, remember that vehicle traffic has the right of way in these crossings. Coming back through Keiser you will have a few roads with very narrow shoulders. There are a few small climbs, but nothing that will get your heart racing.
