This is a great Saturday morning group ride. Plenty of challenges for everyone. Six big climbs within the first 30 miles then rollers and bunny hills after that.

A great scenic route so close to the Twin Cities.  Six great climbs all in the first 30 miles.  The back half of the route has plenty of rollers with short bunny hills throughout.

From Prescott to Hagar City the route goes up and down Mississippi River bluffs.  Exploring wonderful coulees always ending with a tough climb.  The roads are fantastic and the traffic non exisitent except for the Great River road (hwy 35)

# Route

* The Beginning of the route is at @point[Freedom Park](d,170.03).  Just south of the town of Prescott.  Please park in the picnic section instead of the museum section.  They often times have events in the building and management prefers cyclists use the lot away from the museum.
* @slice[Werner Hill](d,24265.98,25353.53) is a nice climb with a canopy of trees it feels like you are in the middle of the forest.  A steep grade of 12% as you slightly turn to the left half way up the hill.
* As you get close to Hager City there is a fun descent on @slice[County Road VV](d,46798.73,48879.63).  A great view of the river on top and a safe but fast descent all the way down.  Be ready for a quick left turn right before hwy 35.
* The first opportunity to fuel up and to use a rest room is in Hager City at the @poi[Express Convinient Store](352633).  The convenient store is on the NW corner of Hwy 35 and Hwy 63.
* @slice[Esdaile Hill](d,60622.07,61372.01) is the longest and toughest climb
* Ellsworth is the cheese curd capital of the world. Hot curds are for sale at the @poi[creamery](352634) right behind the Cenex Station.
* There is a slight descent section @slice[Mile 53](d,86740.72,91101.39) all the way to the stop sign at hwy 63 where riders can get a pace line going.
* The last 10 miles going back to Prescott you head west by south west. In the summertime often you will be fighting a stiff wind  so work together and take turns battling the breeze.
